So I've been working on my health
I have been afraid that I might turn diabetic for a while, since I had always been a huge coca cola drinker. I would go through maybe four to five cans of coke a day, sometimes more. I also would eat high sugar items. I was also quite a glutton. I am 6' even. I was at about 195 lbs, and the family was having some cash troubles. As a result, for 2 weeks, I ate very little, mostly just ramen noodle soup and maybe 4 pieces of pizza every few days. By the end of that time, I was down to 185 lbs. Then, over the next couple months I also started having really bad back pain, which resulted from years of bad posture while playing video games, sitting, bad habits when exercising, and being all-around lethargic. I started going to a physical therapist to help with my back pain. It was at the point where I couldn't stand more than 3 hours without a horrible shooting pain going down my back, almost forcing me to collapse. If it wasn't that, it would be other parts of my back hurting like hell. Anyways, wee worked for a couple months, with me doing mostly exercises to help strengthen my back, as well as muscles that help with the base exercises that would later help my back.
Anyways, while this was going on, I decided to go get my blood sugar tested. I found out I was at 91 blood sugar level, which is still pretty high. 100 can be indicative of a pre-diabetic condition. I was somewhat worried, since I had been losing lots of weight all at once, and knew that was one indicator of becoming diabetic. This just confirmed that I wasn't taking in a healthy amount of sugar. As a result, I haven't had but maybe 6 regular cokes in the last 5 months. I have only been drinking Coke Zero, since it gives me the acidic taste I like, without the sugar. I don't drink as much as I used to either. I have gotten down to about 3-4 a day.
Now for the present conditions. I have yet to go get my blood sugar tested recently, but I have a feeling I have lowered it, but I still need to work on that aspect since I sometimes eat too much sugary food. I have a naturally high blood pressure, but it has calmed down to a more natural pressure. I have better natural posture, and I exercise in correct posture while playing games, which was a huge factor before. I checked my weight today, and I am down to 178.5 lbs. I fit my old pants better, and have even had to go buy new belts since many of my belts are too big for me now, and I don't like putting holes in all my belts (but some I had to). I feel better about myself, and my face has lost a lot of that ugly face fat I was always so self-conscious about. I am going to continue trying to do better. I even increased my fiber intake since I was having a weird amount of BMs, usually one every three or four days, sometimes longer. I take Fiber One bars, as well as spinach and broccoli regularly.
Next on my list? Got to work more on my abs, which I had already been working on for many of my exercises. I also need to work on my protein intake on days I exercise. I also need to work on my arms, which have lost most of their muscle tone. I may require surgery to get rid of this bad bone spur I have on my shoulder, which limits its mobility, as well as prevents me from doing some of my exercises to help my back. Here's to good health, and keeping it.
