DAMMIT, WHY DOES THIS KEEP HAPPENING?!?!

My parents have decided on another "exorcism" of all of our poo poo, thankfully doors not included. Their reason?

Mom: "Wee're starting a new summer routine. No more sitting in front of your computer all summer, you guys are going to get out of the house and do stuff!"

Well, that's great and all, except for one thing. BOTH MY BROTHER AND I HAVE EXTENSIVE PLANS THIS SUMMER ALREADY. Sure, it's not their plans, but frankly, ours are better. My little brother is starting high school in the fall, and wanted to finally get into football. That means that every other weekday morning he has conditioning camp, where they work his donkey off. And after that, he goes and sees friends for pretty much the remainder of the day. I on the other hand, am starting a job on Tuesday, with hours close to full-time (6-8 hours a day). My hours will usually be later, like afternoon evening, and I already have an exercise routine planned out for myself for the mornings. Hell, I would've already started it had I not been coughing up my lungs for the last week. And in fact, that's pretty much the only reason I've been on my computer during the day this week. Usually on days off, ie summer, I'm only on when I wake up and before I go to bed, with other things to do. But because of this fudging cold, I just stay in my room, hating my internal organs. I actually have plans with friends for once I get better, like going to the BYU bookstore with my friends to get Copic markers for art, lots and lots of super-dickery with my friend Alex, car-related stuff with my friend Alex, and hanging out with my best friend, something I'm finally be able to do more now that school is over.

But the problem with our routines is that it doesn't offer them enough control, no. They HAVE to be in charge of the two of us losing weight, they HAVE to have every little detail about what wee're doing this summer, and they just HAVE to be in control. It pisses me off, because usually this only happens when wee screw up, so I feel like I'm being punished for TRYING to make good changes in my everyday life

Man, I'm this close to just tossing in the towel, I've had enough.....

Dude, just follow ^His^ advise, I promise you that 9 times out of 10, so long as you bring it up that they will see it in your favor. I've been there, done that.

Well, they just want you guys to grow up well balanced. You got to see this in your parent's point of view. They care about you a lot, so they want you guys to be busy and active most of the day, instead of just being curled up in front of your computer. I have 2 friends with parent's like that (brothers), they hated it at first, but then they turned out to be great kids, they know how to cook, parasail (actually wee're going parasailing in a few weeks), and they know how to play some instruments. So you may hate them now for doing this, but you'll thank them when you're a little more grown up and realize that you know a lot more than your friends, lol.

Well, I just got an hour lecture from them. Hey feinicks and Mosez, guess what? I tried talking to them. Apparently I'm the lucky type to hit the 1/10. They just got even more mad at me! Yay!

And Wolf, I know what you mean. The thing is though, aside from workouts and whatnot, which wee're working on, wee are pretty balanced people, when wee're allowed to be. Really, the only time wee sit in front of the computer all day is when they trap us in the house in some way. In fact, I'd rather be out of the house. I mean, outside of home I helped my friend spray his hubcaps, I see plays with my theater friends, I have conversations filled with vaguely sexual double-meanings with my best friend, all examples of stuff I'd rather do than stay at home. But my parents trap us at home, saying they want to do something as a family, but then they get wrapped up in their own poo poo and Fred and I have nothing better to do. Wee can't walk anywhere, as wee live on a mountain about 10 miles away from a main road. Our bikes are broken. I don't have a car yet, and won't for another 3 weeks.

It just frustrates the hell out of me.

Oh yeah, it's annoying when your parents force you to do stuff.

It doesn't happen to me, since I'm already in uni and everything, and I pretty much do whatever I want, and they don't give a poo poo. But my sister has a daily plan of when she has to do work, when she has to play piano, when she has to do whatever and everything like that set out by my parents. Cause supposedly she's in her "crucial" stages of life, which will determine her future. You bet it's a super fun plan.

Man, that's rough. Sorry about that MG. Just curious, are you in the states or not? just wondering if the way of being brought up differs between countries. . .
