XP vs. Vista on Widescreen
ok so im sure everyone knows i bought an HD tv recently cause i talk about it alot.. so my PC has a dvi output and i use that to watch hd anime and games in HD (yeah i know its not really hd throught the dvi port but it is as long as the resolution is high enough.. i don't know if its interlaced or progressive scan but i know my tv is 720p but i only paid $400 usd for it...  so this is the deal... on XP i use the 1360x768 to get full widescreen (actually that's as high as the card will output via the DVI port and still be 16:9...) and in vista i can use 1280x720 and it looks exactly the same as 1360x768 does in XP.... i know in this case bigger is better cause higher resolution equals a sharper clearer picture.... but on the other hand i still have alot of regular 480p videos that i like to watch alot and they look better at a lower resolution cause if you blow them up the get pixelated even if it a perfect uncompressed vob.. basically i think vista handles how the pc sizes the picture for your screen better cause i get alot better picture with it....
so i new to widescreen and hi resolution moniter so does anyone have any tips that i can do in either os to make it look a little better? it looks great now but its prolly just me still using low res videos and pictures as wallpaper lol..

and do they make a video card with an HDMI output on it?

I don't know of any miraculous tools...... but I would imagine the furthest such a thing would get would be the Video Rendering & Optimization that goes with the Graphics Card you have...

When there are limits, there are limits.... just need to up the ante for the Vids and Wallpapers like you said ;)

my video card has a dvi output but it can output up to 2000+ i don't know why your videos are pixelated most likely its your tvs sharpness is too high my parent 48inch hd makes anything look pixelated.

^^ its the low rez.. i know it is... cause if i leave the video in a box and not full screen its perfect... they need to make music videos in HD now...  i don't know what im complaining about cause it looks great lol.... just can't expect a 480p video to be perfect on a 720p tv.. youtube and stuff like that is unbearable though lol...

Of course they do, even modern onboard graphics come with HDMI (radeon xpress chipset)
