You know, that awesome X-Men arcade game from the '90s? If not, here's a trailer:
The reason I post this is because it was recently released for iOS. And because I'm about to go on a rant.
You see, every article I read about the app said it was a Universal app. I've always understood that to mean it works with 1st and 2nd Gen iDevices. In the app description there was nothing to indicate it wouldn't work with them. So, remembering how many quarters/tokens I fed to this game as a kid, I purchased it without hesitation.
Then I try to play it. And my character endlessly falls through the floor. Tried it with every character, same thing. Except Colossus, that is. He doesn't jump in like the others, but when he's punched, he endlessly falls the the floor.
That night, I check the app description again and guess what's been added?
Konami Wrote:iPod 2nd Generation and older NOT supported
At this point I'm fudgeing pissed. They waited almost two days after releasing the game to inform people that 1st and 2nd Gen devices weren't supported. At least Monster Hunter Dynamic Hunting CLEARLY states it doesn't work with our old devices.
Now I'm sure you're thinking to yourself "Why don't you just ask Apple for a refund?" Well, I've got two reasons:
This is Apple wee're talking about. They (normally) don't do refunds.
I don't want a refund, I want to play X-Men!!
Here's what I really can't understand. This is an arcade game from the '90s. Konami, are you really telling me that an arcade game from the '90s (almost 20 years ago) is more powerful than my more technologically advanced iPod?
I hope Konami does the right thing and makes it work for EVERYONE. But wee're talking about a major corporation here, so once they get your money, they don't care about you. Which is why I won't buy another Konami product until X-Men works the way they promised. I'd suggest you do the same.
Konami won't bother with it, cause Apple wants people to buy new ipods and iphones. I saw an X-Men arcade machine once...I think it was a four-person machine...or maybe it was six....anyways, that sucks.

Can't beat Darius' three standard screens wide wide screen.
Anyway, I actually haven't seen this game in Arcades but as far as Konami beat em up games go, I definitely remember seeing the Simpsons one.
Anyway, sucks that Konami didn't announce that until 2 days later.
