Seriously. at 250 dpi I cannot see a single mistake or lone pixel on my print (that's 15 x 12 inches By the way)
Just saying 600 dpi is Truly overkill. But if you insist. Just like you say your gonna be shooting RAW when you get your dSLR. I would rather shoot jpg for the space. When I shoot jpg I can get almost 400 images on a 2gb card. If I shoot RAW I can only get around 70.

Have fun with those large files. :)

They're gonna be 9x12 at 600DPI, so 5400x7200, so that's just a little bigger than your stuff, pixel-wise. And it's not really that big compared to what almost all professional graphic artists do.

And the reason I'm gonna be shooting RAW is so I have complete control over everything in the picture. Simple as that. Space is no concern.
And I will have fun. Lot's of fun. Hihi

Man, if I had 8 inches, I would find a better use for it :P

Your choice Haha!
Bigger and cramped into a smaller area. Makes for les chance of seeing the pixels.
The PSD of my file was over 250mb >.< I don't know why I still have it. . .

I just don't see the advantage of raw really. When you get your dSLR shoot RAW + jpeg and test the two in a PC. The JPG will have a little more noise when processed but I don't tand to do much in processing. Mainly sharpening and a few fixes and for me at least RAW looses out to jpg.
