Open Source NAND Dumper v0.1 — for the Slim & Custom Firmware 3.XX
Quote:My main homeboy over at zh.psp-hacks.com enlightened me about this release; I’ve yet to see it anywhere else, so here it is — an open source NAND dumper for the PSP running 3.xx custom firmwares. It works on the Slim, too. cory1492 has released this work based on the original developments by Dark_AleX and Mathieulh.

What good is a NAND dump anyway? Well, it won’t serve the average Joe any real purpose; although, hackers and developers can analyze the dump in hopes to find exploitable vulnerabilities.

See readme.txt for known issues and other related info.

io monitoring added to try and ensure your memory stick never becomes corrupted.

Info:
----
-place the program folder in your higher kernel folder, making for example /PSP/GAME371/ond_3xx
-run from xmb

It will create a nand dump "nand-dump.bin" in the root of your memory stick, and exit.

Make sure you have enough free space, 66MiB for the slim PSP or 33MiB for the old style PSP.

I have tested it and it shouldn't corrupt your card as fileio bytes are monitored, but be warned, it might.

Known issues:
------------
PSP writes to the registry regularly, I haven't looked into exactly when, but if you do a dump

with pandora and then boot 3.xx and do another dump, there will usually be at least 1 different block

in a hex compare of the two dumps. This is always within flash1 and usually plain text like "system.dreg" can be

read in it. Doesn't seem to cause problems (flash1 should not change while running homebrew) in all experiements

I have done on NAND to date.

** use at your own risk, no warranties expressed or implied **

If anyone feels I have abused the privelidges of their source releases, let me know and I will try to rectify it.
