Dark_Moon has just released a quick update to his homebrew app PSP Protection Password released only yesterday. PSP Protection Password v0.2 now supports the PSP Slim; this new version also addresses some bugs and adds some new features.
As suggested by its name, PSP Protection Password adds a password function to your PSP's bootup, allowing you to control who can use the device. Here's the changelog for PSP Protection Password v0.2 from homebrew developer Dark_Moon:

* Utility for generate encrypted password.
* You should generate your password with this utility. Later put the password.txt on the same folder of EBOOT.PBP

* Now the app work on user mode.
* PSP Slim support.
* The password is encrypted.
* Some bug fixes
* Now, the application will lock the power button.
* You can't exit of the application. (Only there are two solution that are remove the battery or put the correct password)
* If the password is false, the PSP will go to suspend mode else, it will go to XMB.
* Letters effect on start the application.
* Color of the numbers changed.
* Removed HOME button for exit of the application.
