Probably, but then, copying CDs/DVDs can be referred to as ripping (although these typically infer quality loss).

When I rip a piece of paper in half, I get two smaller halves of paper.

But what do you get when you rip a UMD?
Two smaller UMDs?

Digitally ripping: An ISO and a UMD
Physically ripping: Two smaller useless pieces of trash.
