Subliminal messages in the gaming industry
Move this thread if it needs to be moved; I have no idea where the hell it needs to be.

There are ways different industries in the world affect us. One way is psychological sabotage; sending messages to our subconscious to perpetuate the negativity in the world, or to impose certain values. Subliminal messages affect us in lots of different ways in the advertisement world: Who to dislike, what to wear, what to eat, etc. Here is a small example from Manhunt2 (PSP) that some of you may not have caught:

You can clearly see the word "HATE". Now, as if this psychological thriller wasn't gory enough, you are now fed feelings of hate on a subliminal level, so you're doubly impacted; once by the actions of hate being acted out in a gaming environment and once by the loading screen you see above. It's sad to see the gaming industry attacking our collective psyches. :( I never thought that would happen.

RE: Subliminal messages in the gaming industry
Problem with textual subliminal messages is that they have to be readily readable for them to have a significant impact (since if you can't readily read it, it's just a useless bunch of scribbles which mean nothing).  If it was more an "imaged" subliminal message, it would have more effect (ie a person holding an axe or soemthing >_>).
