I got one of those compact ones.. and it was brand new at Xmas 07 - but it takes ages to take a photo!!
I can I make it do quicker snaps?
My dad's got one too, did some speech somewhere, and they gave it to him as a present.
It was some time ago though, so yours is probably better.
I never really use it, but it doesn't seem to take that long taking a photo...
Turn flash on. . .
It basically tells the camera to make shutter speed shorter.
yeah . flash
or take shots in well lit places :D
also check the settings
*what model is it?
there are a few different ways to make it take a faster picture
but the quality will go down
my suggestion is mess with the settings
see what works best for you
my camera can sometimes take a while to take pictures depending on light so flash might work.
its mostly due to your memory stick.
Watch the camera after it takes a photo and you will see the write light flash so many times...using sandisk gaming pro duo you will see many less flashes than using a standard sony card!
when i use mine... it seems okay...
Its a DSC-W80.. I have problems with noise as well.. maybe I should make the photos smaller - I usually shoot in 7M/5Meter shots

i have that exact same camera... with a High speed MSpro duo, indeed the camera has problems with the noise... the sensor is too sensitive i think....
i don't know how to make the shutter faster, neither do i know of a way to remove the autofocus thingy, which makes the actual shooting of the pic slow...
