Yeah My guess why it looks that way is its scaled down (causing less noise).
I like lonely sky.
A tip too, try to work on the background of the photo and not just the focal, it tends to be real busy in some photos.

Yeah scaling down causes less noise. It sorta scrunches all the pixels together to fit and some go away.
Also you can still see some tiny noise. The Abstract light image has the most noticeable amount of noise there.

And wee have a winner. Yeah, my Cybershot has a smaller aperture, meaning that there's a bit more noise unless you expose it for longer. I just use the noise remover in photoshop, then scale it down, because that usually removes any noticable noise, and I print them fairly small, so that's not really an issue
And I would work on the background, if any of the still life pictures were staged. You see, I took Centerpiece, Flower, Silverware, and The Happy Couple while bored at a restaurant one weekend. They just turned out better than I thought.

Yeah I noticed. I thought these pictures with the busy bg's must have been some sort of experimentation or randomness.
Still waiting to see if I will get a dSLR on my birthday. . .

Well, they're pretty damn expensive. A good base camera with a stock lense is about US$400 for a good balance of price to quality, then each additional lense is anywhere from $200 to $1000

Wow, that's pretty freaking cheap. Too bad the US Amazon's listing for that same item is ~$500
