I have had my Canon Eos D30 for about 7 years.  Got it new as a sales spif with 3 lenses 2 xtra batteries 2 cases the dual charger and assorted filters for all the lenses.  Total was about 5G US.  Glad I did not have to pay for it.  If I had I would never have one.  LOL It may only be a 3 mega Pixl but it take wonderful pucs.  Not only that but if I ever get the XL1 I can use the same leses.  But if I was going to get a new on I would go with one of the new EOS Rebels.  they are hot.

Yeah, I've heard those are pretty good. Personally, I'm planning on getting a Nikon D40, as my grandpa, who never did photography professionally but could've, has a bunch of Nikon lenses I could use.
