but I do think gay men are fudgeing sick though. sorry
if marriage were anywhere close to as 'sacred' a bond as it used to be, maybe there would be room for the argument to 'protect' it from being diluted, or whatever. but considering the divorce rate, and the number of celebrities who have a new marriage each other month, who really cares if gays get this 'right'? it's definitely far removed from what god first intended it to be anyways; i don't think wee live in a very biblical world anymore.

Marriage was made by God to be between a man and a woman. That's sorta the whole definition of it. Gays and lesbians already have the same sort of thing, being legally bound to each other "until death do them part." I dunno, the "marriage" label just seems like a kinda.....sacred (not the word i was looking for but you know what i mean) thing.
If this thread was just about the gay's and lesbians being legally bound to each other in a ceremony, then I'm all for it. If two people love each other, I don't care what they do, as long as it doesn't interfere with my life
do gays really already have this? the ability to legally be bound together as a couple, have a ceremony, etc? is that what declaring a life partner is about?

Yeah. What everyone's fighting for is just the right to actually call it marriage.
fudge that marriage is some recognized by the church first and foremost
and gays arent...... they should be able to
but by rule of law
any couple that has lived together for over 7 years is to the state.. married
so if gays really want they can just lived together...
and why are all you guys talking about dudes?
i personally love lesbians and they can do what ever they want to me.....

Men typically don't have a problem with lesbians.
That's why the majority are talking about the male side
of it. Because that's what usually bothers people on the
topic of being "gay."

i felt the exact same way... odd
I think Dave Chappelle put it best:
"Gay people don't bother me. It doesn't effect my life. I mean who actually sits around their house complaining 'GOD damn it, there's gay people in the world !' "
LOL. So yeah. What Dave said... :p

But why?
They have nothing to do with you...
So why would you be angry with them for loving?
Do they make love in front of you?
Or force actions upon you?
