I think its something that the Japanese created to attack the US. (kinda like what they did on pearl harbor)
japanese have old monster beliefs like dragons n stuff so dino-like godzilla is like their monster, and the US are advanced with stuff like NASA and science and genetics so they have an alien monster, at least that's what i think is the connection between them that was maybe the one that was being communicated to us
