the fat PSP got not much flash0 space so its good if you can compress,.. the SLIM psp got 16mb free flash0 so you really don't need to compress for the SLIM,. Specky

thanks for the clarification boss - i do not know what is happening with mine then, i tried just hexing the clock position using a decompressed vshmain.prx from 3.80, flashed it and my psp after powering on just stays black and turns off - i do have a phat, would that be the problem? i do also have about 4mb still of free space in flash0 :(

wow! that is one of the best pages i have seen, thanks! actually, i just downloaded v.0.4 - stupid me - i have tried the 380 vshmain.prx on v.0.3 :( that is why i want to learn to hexedit because as much as the custom xmb editor is a really really great app - it still handles vhsmain and paf only right? or am i wrong again :( thanks again for accommodating my so-noob questions :)

boss - are the bstronga headers still good for v.0.4?

Hi

yes boss the headers are fine,.. and yes you need XMB editor v0.4 for 3.80 paf and vshmain
i tried boss when i went home though i am in a hurry - when i opened the vshmain using v.0.4 - the last tab (icons on-off) is empty, also when i tried to compress using bstronga headers - it failed :(

nope - its my fault, i just got the 380 prx from the link you gave and the vshmain is good with v.0.4 - i guess psardumper m33 kept its word that its up to 371 only and did not quite do the job on my 380 :(
I'm having a few problems editing the following offset in sysconf_plugin.prx:

Code:
// 0x25A70    104    Change to 272

When I go to that offset, the float is nothing like the 104 stated above. It says it's:

Code:
2.7662378e+029

Am I doing anything wrong? Hmmm Please help solve my problem. I don't usually Hex edit stuff. =P

You're not doing anything wrong, carboymam.  That offset is there inadvertently.
0x25A70 wouldn't effect the resolution in the "about PSP (playstationportable)" slideshow to fullscreen,
as all the other offsets are between 0x25f84 and 0x25f98.

There's only one instance of 104 for 32bit float and it's at offset 0x25f88

Just ignore that offset in the list for the resolution change.
OK. Thanks for the quick reply.

Edit:

When I try to compress the vshmain.prx file after editing it, (with Custom XMB Editor v0.4) I get an error, then the app shuts down. Is there anyother alternative to compress the prx, because my Phat PSP doesn't boot with decompressed vshmain.prxs.
carboy,
are you sure you have enough space in your flash0?  My fat psp loaded fine with a decompressed vshmain.prx  Check to see if the vshmain.prx is really in your module folder and if it's not, delete your dic folder and try putting vshmain back.  (dic is just asain fonts, so you can clear a bunch of flash0 space if you delete it).

Use PRX Compressor 0.41 and the paf.prx and vshmain.prx headers for compression i included in the download:
