*ill send you the " -------- " if you want
thanks that says it will convert.. i already found lol... mpeg4 h264 avi make really good music videos at low bit rates
Something based off x264.
Interestingly, in the multimedia encoding world, free/open source outright beats commercial software.
Something like XviD4PSP could work, though if you want the best results, probably better to manually convert via x264.
H.264 + Vorbis or H.264 + HE-AAC in an MKV container will give best results.

What i use to encode into h264.
It's free, and gives u quite a lot of control.
U can get it here: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=96032
The main issue is that it's somewhat easy to crash... and not that newbie friendly.
It's odd - I've yet to see a
decent GUI for encoders. Oh, By the way, I dislike .NET apps, so yeah...
But MeGUI is decent otherwise - it does give you a lot of options, presuming you understand most of them...
i use Virtual Dub with KLiteMega Codec pack to encode my videos.
i use this convetor called winavi video convertor but im not sure it does h264
