After a lot of buildup and hype the 2 main Virtual Reality headsets are out to the public; HTC Vive and Oculus Rift. Also something worth mentioning is the Gear VR from Samsung which uses the newest and last generation Samsung smartphones as lenses. Does anyone own or plan to get into VR? Or is it just a gimmick? I don't know really but I have owned the GearVR for months and I played around with it for a few days but then I ignored it for a while until now that Minecraft was released for VR. I bought a bluetooth controller and started to get into it once again. So far it's been enjoyable.
I've been thinking about getting a GearVR, but I'd probably only use it for this.
can't wait to VR travel places that is too far away from me
Will wait for generation 2 before considering.
Has some interesting potential, will have to see whether it really holds up to all the hype.

Interesting to note the system requirements of the Rift.  Also Sony's PS4K is one to watch.
Sony know that VR is happening now and they should win big by capitalizing on it now. PS VR better not run spoon on the current PS4 though!

What are Microsoft doing? :/
had a test of the Rift yesterday but wasn't really that into it since there was too much disconnect

i will wait

Disconnect? Mind elaborating on that?
when your viewing something and you try to move your hand and you feel it moving but you can't see it moving. i realize that's something wee havent mastered in VR terms yet but it takes away the feeling of my experience
Really? I didn't know that was an issue. I had seen some livestreams where you can see your hands in-game moving while you actually moved them thanks to those 2 controllers. Or maybe it was the game they were using that picked up on movements
Rift doesn't have those.
