Oh the Rift. Sorry I misread that as the HTC Vive. Im an idiot
I just want to use the oculus as glasses, and be able to use web browsers and spoon without looking at a phone.
Imagine looking at hershey kisses in the office, nobody knows...

That's AR though. As it stands Microsoft will miss the first wave of consumer VR which is a bit surprising, I'd have thought they would want to compete in some way - maybe they've already resigned this generation to Sony.
There's somewhat of an overlap with VR and AR though.  AR could be a nice little niche for them.

Most commentators seem to think that it's best to wait for the second gen of VR.  Perhaps entering at a later point, you can learn from the mistakes of others...
