It has the same level innovation the Wii had. But over all, if you considered the Wii a failure (and I did, overall) then yes, the Wii U is on the same level.
Finally got around to playing some games on it. Really, it just feels like playing a really big DS. They already have a DS >_>

The Analog Sticks are above the Pad and Buttons.
Or is it just Upside down? If it is not then that is one hell of a control.

Sticks are above. Just like on their Pro controller as well:

Woah! To me that is one messed up controller.
If i ever had one, it will take some time to get used to it.
I think Nintendo created it randomly so that it won't get compared to other controllers.
But it did.

You mean an Xbox 360 clone? Yeah...

If you ask me, the controller is inspired to look like a 360 controller with a layout that's like an inverted dual shock.

if anyone considered the Wii a failure they need their head checked xD
nintendo is rolling in the ¥ cause of that thing. Financially it was a HUGE success. Just because it survived on shovelware doesn't make it a complete failure. After all, your average Wii buyer loves shovelware for their young kids to enjoy. God did i know the junky games my uncle and aunt bought for their Wii for their 4-10 year olds.
Oh and Wii Fit, for that pseudo-fitness experience.

Wii, overall, was a failure. People weren't buying games. It had the lowest software attach rate of the consoles. It did well for Nintendo, but every other company pulled their support after they realized they couldn't make a profit. It was not a "HUGE success". Hardcore gamers buy the games and are always buying new ones. Softcore by a few titles can survive of them for a year and play them occasionally. So while Nintendo sold their Wii Resort, Wii Fit, Mario Kart, etc, other developers like SEGA and EA were struggling to make a profit. Even Nintendo's Wii console sales peaked, and then went on a straight downwards curve, whereas the Xbox and PS3 fluctuated but generally constantly sold and still are.
A console's "success" is not just about it's own sales, it's also the ecosystem around it.
This time around EA and Ubisoft are pushing their core titles out the gate in an attempt to attract the PC/Xbox/PS crowd from the start. They know if they don't have them buying their games, it's not worth their time. Now, the bad part about it is porting. The Wii U once again is going to be the weakest of the 3 consoles. Meaning the cross-platform games are going to be Xbox 720/PS4 developed and ported to the Wii U. So I, as well as others, predict the same fallout the Wii brought with core titles. The big games will be developed on other consoles then ported to the Wii U with "gimmicks" not found on the core consoles. Some of those "gimmicks" will be good, others will just be tacked on to say they are there.
