No, the controller is a sealed unit with a proprietary charger. And worse yet, the battery only last ~3 hours :(

Well, I won't have to go to the store to buy more AA batteries (or resort to rechargeable ones.) But 3 hours is too short.

Didn't realise about the battery life...that along with anyone with the basic model having to use an external HDD for downloaded games, something just makes me think this console wasn't well thought...

Well to be honest I'm not sure about the memory-size being a big problem :/ Sure Nintendo could have made a 500GB Wii U but that would have made the console more expensive by 50€ or more so in the end I have more options as a customer with just a 8GB Wii U. I mean like this I am not forced to pay for memory I might not need and _if_ I need it I can always just go out and buy a external HDD of choice for 50€ but that's just my opinion^^

Hmm shouldn't you be able to get a Basic Wii U with Nintendo Land for the same price as the Deluxe Wii U? So you only would have to pay extra for the stands :/ And don't worry about not having pre-ordered, my local "MediaMarkt" told me that the number of units Germany will receive is unknown so they never took pre-orders in the first place and I can imagine it's the same for most other shops with the exception of Gamestop

So if wee want Wii U's on the 30th wee have to go into "rush-mode" and be first Also I kind of wish MediaMarkt would do midnight-launches as I never was at one and I'm sure it would be a experience^^

by the way: how much does the wii u cost in euros? (both standard and deluxe version)

no midnight launch in berlin either :( so ill go to my nearest saturn at noon before uni. maybe. still don't know

Oh well if Berlin doesn't do midnight-launches I can give up all hope, thanks for telling me And the normal version costs 300€ while the Deluxe is 350€ from what I heard^^
