If you're carrying the laptop around, I'd probably suggest a non-gaming machine that's more portable. From memory, most Alienware ones are larger. But if you don't mind the lugging...
can't sacrifice power unfortunately, i want power, and I'll be doing 3G cg rendering and stuffs too.
Fair enough, but even the laptop will probably suck at content production (does 3D rendering even use much GPU? I thought they used a fair bit of CPU).
IDK, I don't do 3D rendering, though have heard other people doing 3D stuffs at Uni, leaving their quad core desktop CPUs render for hours; some guy only had a laptop and had to have 100% CPU utilisation for a few days.
