Being an admin on that site it would worry me if all my members vanished.

Facebook ruins itself on a daily basis, so there isn't too much they can do to make it worse. In fact it would be funny if they attack FB and it ends up making it better lol.

I am pretty sure Facebook backed up their server to another server, in case of something like this. So if Facebook gets taken down they can restore the server from the backed up image. Users would only lose what they did that day. So very unlikely...

Then again Anonymous doesn't bullchocolate, so if its real and is done..., all I can say is WOW.

More like 30,000+ servers actually.  When you're as big as Facebook, you need a LOT of replication, load distribution, bandwidth etc to handle everything.
And when you have so many servers, a few of them failing is pretty much usual business, which is all taken into consideration with the design.

They're not going to suddenly cause a multi-billion dollar company to collapse, but it's possible for them to do some damage nonetheless.
