It's some sort of flash based card, sort of like the DS cards or something... No more UMDs.

buying it early means i'd use it as mp3/mp4 player for some months/years X_X
There is 2 slots...
The first slot is for PSV games you buy which are like memory sticks...
The second slot is for the new memory stick which you have to buy from Sony :)

So it will cost you about 350/400 for wifi version or 400/450 for 3G version.
This is only if you buy a game and a memory stick.
+250$ for PSV / +50$ for new game / +50$ (+100$ for better memory stick) for new memory stick.

too bad game industry isn't like music industry
local version of foreign music CDs (the legal one) are cheaper here,, for example japanese band's CD album costs 8-9$, far cheaper than original release in japan.
that way most people still can afford to get the legal release
games are different, it costs almost the same everywhere >___<
