Would it be safe to mount the ISO image and install?

Here is my PC specs.

I'd recommended just doing a clean install. That guarantees the problem will be fixed.
But Doesn't that wipe out my whole hard drive? with all my movies and other stuff.....

That.

1. Burn your disk to DVD
2. Backup all the stuff you need currently on your HDD
3. Turn off your computer and boot with the DVD, reformat, repartition (if you want separate partitions), install.
4. ????
5. Profit!!!

Ok, go to your disk management or whatever it's called inside Windows and shrink your current partition, and make a new empty one.
* trademark91 recommends a full install of windows 7 x64

but i'd say buy it. it doesn't seem smart to pirate your OS. if theres one piece of software you pay for, it should be your OS (unless your OS is free, then you already win)

Thank you all for your help Madwin

I have to buy a DVD now lol
i recommend a clean install too,. but you could try an upgrade prob will work fine,.. def will take longer,...

clean install>> just because,... but you have to back-up all your stuuf,..
upgrade>> installs over vista will take very long,.. longer to install,..
Download a 3rd party explorer and run using cmd, then install permanately and replace the explorer, problem solved (the vista explorer fails anyways)
i still think my way would work

Assuming that Explorer and ONLY explorer is screwed up.

Very likely something else is causing it to screw up, rather than just explorer.exe itself being bad.
