I will help you only if you switch your text from pink to black
First question is, are the movies HD movies? (720p, 1080p)

If yes, my next question would be, does the video play smooth on a normal monitor from that computer? If not, means your computer isn't fast enough to decode the HD video

What kind of input/outputs are you using to connect the tv to the computer?
hmmm interesting, i have the same issue, although I'm not sure on refresh rates, and havent really tried to see if the framerate is better on my native monitor.

im connecting my 32" 720P tv to my comp with a DVI to HDMI cable, and running video to it in 720P (I'm pretty sure the 'jerkiness' is absent when i watch regular dvd quality flicks)
That, again, sounds like a computer that is to slow to run HD video. To test it, use a regular computer monitor that you know has no jerkiness.

DVD quality is a ton easier on the cpu to decode then HD-DVD quality.

Also, the player or codec can make all the difference. What media player do you use to watch the content?

try VLC, which is the best media player out there. But it can be kinda slow when it comes to HD content. Probably the fastest player is windows media player classic with FFDshow codec.

How fast of a computer do you two have? I have a AMD 4000+ with 1GB of RAM and a Geforce 6800GT (the video card does have an effect on HD video decoding) I can play 720p movies perfectly, but my computer chokes on 1080p stuff.
AMD 3800+ 1GB RAM
...where can i see what video card i have? :[

ive been using vlc
right click on the desktop»properties»settings. Look at the Display drop-down area, it will say "blah blah monitor on..."

Your system should be able to handle 720p no problem, hmmm...
aha, GeForce 7600 GT
there's this thing called nvidia purevideo which offloads a lot of the work from the CPU and supposedly helps HD playback a lot.....it's not free, but you can find it...around :mdr:

I can't help you much more with that as I don't have the right type of card for it...:(
