PSPGEN Wrote:Whereas E3, GamesCom and Tokyo Game Show could have been marked by the advertisement of the very semi-official PSP2, it would seem that Sony chose very an other solution: a conference deprived with the press, which will take place this Thursday in Tokyo.

A rumour circulated on the fabric a few weeks ago. Today, Sony confirms that a conference will take place in Tokyo indeed, but refuses to say some more.

It is a Japanese analyst, Yasuaki Fujima, which thus delivers a detail to us on this conference, which is worth its heavy of gold. Indeed, according to this analyst, the conference would take the name of PlayStation Meeting.

So some wonder in what the name of the conference can appear important, it should be known that it is not the first time that Sony chooses this name, which is used for the greatest conferences of Sony. The last time that it was used goes back to 2005. The conference was then dedicated to PlayStation 3.

what's with the images of the render that was posted weeks ago?

It'll just make people complain about it's ugliness again.

Otherwise, about time. Hopefully the release won't be too late after the 3DS.

yea im not happy about its look myself. I really hope that's not the final design.
I actually wonder why Sony didn't include a second analogue the first time and Nintendo didn't include one at all?

I anxiously await more info on the PSP2
"Reporting from Japan, the newspaper Nikkei has laid claim to a few more tid bits of information pertaining to the PSP2. First off, an OLED screen. Awesome. OLED will look absolutely stunning. Second, support for 3G data. This will ensure that you'll be able to play multiplayer games and connect to the PSN seamlessly over the air. No word yet on whether or not a particular cellular service plan is required or if a cellular carrier will have exclusive rights."

3G Awesome Madwin
don't oled screens have screen tearing issues?
Hey, it might look ugly, but as long as I can hold it and it does what it can good. Then I'm fine with it.
