i really can't understand what people find wrong with them :/

they're a normal rock band, if slightly generic

i do indeed sometimes, if not most of the time have trouble understanding the lyrics, but my bad hearing can't help

i almost always know what is being said. the only exception are some industrial bands where not only are they screaming but whispering as well...

What often happens to me is I hear something, then once I read the lyrics and see what it's supposed to say I can't go back to hearing what I originally thought :/

I'd say I could get about 80% of a song right depending on the song. (most mainstream, if it's a screemo song or something like that I'll probably pick up like 15% of what's going on, if that. )

I generally think I'm right until I look up the lyrics. Then I figure I was horribly mistaken e.e

most times i couldnt understand them :p
then once i look up the lyrics , id feel stupid for not understanding xD

I understand lyrics most of the time, unless it's guttural vocals or something like that, then I look them up.

First of all, they made "Rockstar" - which at first was just a crappy song, then it got picked up by the mainstream and it was played on the Radio dozens of times a day making it the "really annoying crappy song". Second of all, "Silver Side Up" is their only decent album. All of their other albums are in some way as equally poo poo as the other, and somehow they have become worse over time, becoming more boring, generic and uninspired as time goes by. Yes, that's the kind of music wee need. Third of all, I wouldn't say this is one of my own reasons by they seem to be a band people love to hate. I guess it's cause they do peoples heads in. Mine included.

I like how Allmusic put it:

"Nickelback are a gnarled, vulgar band reveling in their ignorance of the very notion of taste, lacking either the smarts or savvy to wallow in bad taste so they just get ugly, knocking out knuckle-dragging riffs that seem rarefied in comparison to their thick, boneheaded words."
