No! Not that other stick! [/Seitokai Yakuindomo-esque joke]
Pretty much everyone (except the elderly) has one these days, considering how damn cheap you can get a relatively large one.
In fact, I've been looking to get a new one as my current one is slow as. I'm only using about ~330MB and that's got all the portable apps and my own files, so 2GB is plentiful, but I'd rather spend more for a fast USB stick. Unfortunately, all the fast ones are generally large too.
So what do you stick on your USB stick(s) and how much space do you consume?
only got the one for work... drivers, programs, databases, PS3 themes and some TV shows xP
Got multiple sticks, one for work, one for documents, one for everything else (16 gig).
The last one has random ISOs, and the cracked version of Bone Town on it. I have been known to throw the occasional hershey kisses onto my stick, if I am going out of town or something...
Don't use a USB flashdrive (you're referring to flash drives right?) these days, ever since I got my (USB) portable HDD.
And since that's 320GB, I have all kinds of poo poo on it.
Holds a whole suit of portable apps so I can actually do stuff while at school or the public library.
Hold a collection of all the installers for the useful programs I encounter. Good because there's like 4 active computers in the house, which all need updates once new version comes.
A test file containing download links, a text file containing notes that I add to when I come across interesting stuff, and a test file named to-do which is pretty self explainatory.
Place to put all work related stuff, that I need to carry between school and home.
Temporary storage for pretty much all other stuff I need both at work and at home.
Random pictures and whatever other stuff I find when not at home goes in there.
Temporary storage for all incomplete downloads (eg. It would hold downloaded episodes until the whole series finishes downloading, then be moves off to the storage HDD).
Encoding tools
Storage for PSP related stuff, so I can move stuff on/off the PSP from any computer
Some backups
Some music too
Err.... that would make everything besides for games.

which one have you got? portable HDDs tend to have consistently average reviews :/

lol i have everything on the list on my 16gb pendrive

WD My Passport for this.
I usually build my own. Buy laptop HDD, buy case, put together.
As for reviews, meh, it's a portable HDD, all it needs to do is hold data and not break. I don't need it to be able to do 100MB/s writes or something.
Currently mine i full of water after leaving it in my jens pocket and washing them. It's been though a few times before so it should be OK.
