If you can arrange your classes together, it's good.  Sometimes I skip lectures and just listen to the recordings (if they're offered).  In fact, lecture recordings are pretty cool - can listen whilst eating or doing whatever, and if you can concentrate well, play it at like 1.5x to save time.

I wasted money on textbooks on first semester too.  Now I don't even buy them.
It's probably a bit harder to socialise (than highschool), if all you do is try to get to know people from class (lectures can be big, and people move around).

And people don't suddenly change moving into uni :P

I bought mine on ebay, saved me a whole lot of money. I could've saved more if I knew about that text book online place. >.>
