Raw power wise, Intel have the upper hand if you compare the flagship processors of the two.
Of course, for most people, price is the other prime factor, and as you'd expect from a duopoly, both Intel and AMD are somewhat balanced in that respect.
However, to these "hacker teens", they don't understand that price is a factor...

seeing as that is made by Sapphire (using an ATI GPU)
your girls on the box won't disappear
nearly all GPUs are made by a 3rd-party, using either an ATi or nVidia GPU as the base.
