SKFU has made an Exploit for the PS3!

So here is the result of the simple idea. The first code which is 100% PS3 only compatible. No flash, no bd-java or similar. The actual exploit is not finished. This is just the loader you will need and a proof of concept of the methode used to load it.

This is a beta version of the POC as I'm too tired to finish it now but I don't want to' let you wait so long. Here you go:

How 2 Use:

1. Install loader.p3t like a common theme file.
2. Put loadme.fudge you on an USB stick's root dir.
3. Insert USB device into any PS3 USB port.
4. Enable the theme you just installed before.
5. Hello World.

How It Works:

The PS3 theme file is able to load the loadme.fudge you script from any USB port. The script is executed. The "loader" is for future-use aswell to load any .fudge you files which I'll release.

Some of you may expect a little bit too much out of this. The code used runs in a very restricted area. Currently wee test how far wee can go into direction "overflow" and system param's wee can access.

So far it's possible to command the script a bit via system parameters like the clock. The clock can be used as provider of input, for example to command simple textures in different directions or similar.

This is no exploit yet, if you may have missed that statement in the prior post. It's just a way to load scripts via USB now.

Further tests will show us what is possible at all. The information needed was given to several more devs so they can take part in the action.

although i would really like the ps3 to remain exploit/hack free its the only console to date that hasn't had the spoon hacked out of it

so you are the virgin for life type?

=/ only the hacker can bring out the true potentials of a console. because they are not bounded by law, by profit nor anything else.

I don't really care if the PS3 gets hacked or not, doesn't seem much for me to benefit from it.

nevertheless I'm excited for this, pretty much all i need is custom theme. =/ seriously, you'd never know how much more PS3 will be sold if it officially supports themes like V1 and Schmilk's
don't underestimate it, because theme-ing is the sole reason i wanted an ipod touch before, and i probably will get one, 3GS or 4.

Just a POC. When the real exploit gets here, I'll be excited.

no reason to hack a console. (mind you i would hack a PS2 becasue it is not region free)

hack away!! Sony is exploiting the console to much lately/anyway!! ripping "other OS" no PS2 and PS1 disc suport,. paying for avatars,. extra fee for psn store section,... and no decent theme's <<;p also the homebrew will be awesome. Wii emu :)
