If you're buying a core i5 750, you may want to consider a better GPU to match. Do know that gaming performance is mostly GPU limited, rather than CPU. Especially if you want your machine to still be able to play new games 3 yrs later at decent settings/speeds.

Spend your $60 on your GPU, not some super ultra expensive brand spray paint.

Oh yeah, also, if you're getting that chip, you have to overclock (which means you may also want a custom cooler), otherwise you'll never see it's true power. You can supposedly overclock 40%+ to like 3.8Ghz (at which level you can rip up a stock Core i7 960)...
Which is why at the start I asked if you're an overclock or not, it's somewhat important in picking CPUs.

No, but it's got risks, I believe. I think it's the components getting hotter than they normally would.

Personally, don't OC unless you need it. OCing does void the warranty, it reduces the chip's lifespan, and, as said, can cause overheating or destroy the chip (last one is unlikely if you do things properly though). Personally, my Q6600 is way faster than the amount of power I need, so I don't OC.

On the other hand, I should've bought a stronger processor, I'm finding mine insufficient sometimes, even when overclocked. Stuff taking too @#$@&% long to encode... >.> And not really strong enough to emulate PS2 full speed (PCSX2 can currently only use 2 cores).
