i currently have "Norman (Not Norton) Anti-Virus" on my laptop and i was thinking about installing AVG aswell. is it good to have more than one anti-virus system running? i have no intention of removing Norman because my dad pays for that and its a good one, but is it okay if i have more than one?  i read some where that it is good to have more than one anti-spyware, infact the more the better (by the way can someone recommend a good one to me :D) but it is only good to have one anti-virus app on your computer. is that true?

thanks :D
The last i heard norton is Spoon.  You should only need 1 anti-virus running.  Which 1 is best i don't know.
i know that norton (the popular one) is chocolatee, but i use Norman that you probably haven't heard of. it is good and i have no intention of removing it. i just want to know if it is fine if i have both that an AVG on my computer?
It is a very bad idea to try and run more than 1 anti-virus at a time, there will be conflicts between the programs and it could possibly leave you unprotected.  If Norman (never heard of it) really is doing a good job then just leave it, if you think it might be missing things than it would be better to completely remove it and use something else (like AVG).

As for anti-spyware, what I mainly use are Ad-Aware and Spybot S+D, I know there are other good ones but I can't think of them right now.
how about just uninstalling both of them? no more whining popups about updates for the win

i knew it would be bad to have 2+ Anti-Virus Apps on my computer i was just making sure :D
i have no problems with Norman, its just that i thought it may be better if had more than one.
thanks for the Anti-Spyware recommendations :D

now that I'm going to get those spyware apps, does anyone know where i can get Ad-Aware Professional with a crack?
Don't bother with a crack for any Anti Virus, Ad ware or Spy Ware scanners. Since the programme is constantly updating they are constantly stopping cracked versions of the aforementioned programmes from working. I use AVG Paid on my laptop and free on my desktop and AVG Anti Spyware (Free).
mini thingy you no
ive heard of norman its ok
also running 2 antiviruses slows ur pc
Haven't heard of it, but my suggestion is to just keep the one A/V app, and avoid trying to get viruses (in other words, don't run EXEs or any type of executable file unless you know what it is).
