Sounds fudgeed to me, it's what my old mouse from like 6yrs ago does.
You probably just bad lucked on a defective product. Is it within warrenty? If so, return it and get a new one.

My Razer Boomslang did that, then I got the creative fatal1ty mouse, and went through 3 of those and they did it too..its from too much first person shooting for me...when your mouse does that, its time to get a new one or send it back to manufacturer for replacement.

Never had such issues with cheap Logitech mice, then again, I don't FPS much.
I don't play games at all, lol.

I never really found problems with any mice (used my current Razer one for like 4yrs now). My brother on the other hand went through like 5 in that time.
It all depends on usage patterns.
