When starting a new game you haven't played before, what do you set the difficulty to?
I guess this may vary with genre and how good you rate yourself, but in general, do you always choose the easiest option, or leave it on default?
Usually between easy and normal, as I get better I move on to the harder difficulties.
some games are to easy to play on normal,. or its to boring,. some i liek to see whot the games look liek so i set to easy anyway,.
Depends on the type of game but...

I'm a causal gamer, I play for fun, not for a challenge, so I usually pick normal or easy.

I'm what one would call hardcore, though I don't play games much nowadays I still prefer games targeted at hardcore/old skool gamers.
Normal/Medium.. havent been much of a gamer these past few years though to be honest. I reckon if I played enough I'd be confident to start games on hard.
[Mind you an exception would be arcade-style street racing games - NFS:U/U2/Carbon and Midnight Club 3/LA - I'll happily play races on hard in their career modes]

I play games that 'hardcore' gamers would play, but I don't play them to be a badass or any bullchocolate like that, I play because I enjoy it.
Almost always on the middle difficulty settings (normal/medium/whatever).
I like starting with easy mode to get used to the game then hard mode after a while. Then i usually go and find cheats when im bored with the game.
