Firefox and IE for homework.
Assassinator Wrote:Firefox, that's it. There's no reason to use more than 1, just makes for extra bloat.
Some of my websites need the use of IE. :p
firefox, then IE (for microsoft related apps, like outlook)
Firefox 3.5 at home. IE8 as a backup. (Don't actually have any shortcuts to it)
IE7 at school. Damn does it suck balls. I was downloading a 500 MB file yesterday and it crashed at 99%. Used to use Portable Firefox 3.5 but I got told off for it and I've since lost the flash drive that had it stored...
^ I recall an IE theme for Firefox - should try that.
You get in trouble for using FF?

Yep. School is becoming a dictatorship. Wee had some troubles a few weeks back with kids abusing the system. Obviously the kids were punished but the IT guy decided to change everyone's password without telling them. Everyone was wondering why their accounts had dissappeared. It was only by word-of-mouth that wee found out. Wee now all have random 6 letter passwords with no option to change them to something more memorable. This means everyone has written their password down making the problem worse than it was before...
I hope you're watching me IT guy... Yes I mean you...

Your IT guy's retarded.
But then again, at my sister's school, they have a similar problem . Everyone gets given a default password that follows a certain pattern when they 1st come to the school (something like their name written backwards or something). And from what my sister gathered, like 80% of the dumbass kids don't change their password. So people (including her) just log onto other people's internet account to download (there's a quota). And because these stupid kids don't learn and keep getting their quota 'borrowed' (f
ucking retards get told to change their password when the default is given to them, but no, they don't), the IT guy decided to
block downloading all together, can't even save a picture from the school website. Whenever you try to download anything, IE just closes. Like w
tf?!?
That is pretty mean. Here's something I just noticed though. I was in the library yesterday downloading some software (legal). It was downloading at around 2-3MB/s. I've done a tes this morning though in the sixth form computer room. Here's the result:
I think they're limiting the bandwidth in this room so wee can't do anything naughty...

My uni's speed is way insane. Like way way insane.

But downloads seem to have gotten capped now (probably because wee got our quota upgraded, and everyone started spamming downloads), so I can no longer pull stuff like that (screenshots and speedtest are from like 1yr ago).

same thing happened to me. :(
they blocked Torrents a while ago, and now they've blocked pretty much all file hosting sites.
