Wee'll have to see what FPS wee actually want to play.
If wee're gonna play CS:S I'd imagine wee'd do it on official server anyway -.-
Don't have CS Source, only have 1.6, and that's currently not installed.
Call of Duty 2 and UT2004 the only multiplayer FPS' I have currently installed. Both of these (CS too) need a large number of players to be any good, so it's probably not going to happen.
RTS' are good, because they work with any number of players. 1v1, 1v1v1, 2v2, etc.

I loved that game when I was a kid hehe
meeeee tooooo!
LOL awesome! wee'll have to play over VLAN xD
Senseito7 Wrote:ProperBritish Wrote:ive tried to set up my network
when you boot CS:S, open the console with the ` key and type (when i have a game up)
sometimes connecting this way will work and normal connection does not
you shouldnt have your own network. you should be connected to EPGaming... lol.
but yeah, that method should work just fine.
lol sorry i phrased that incorrectly, i meant as if i was hosting the game
Added CounterStrike section to "Known Problems"
Add Warhammer 40k to that list of fail. It really doesn't like Hamachi, as me and a friend found out last year.
How about Halo Custom Edition? Everyone can get it, you just need a Halo cd key and cd to run it. (and there are ways around this)
Failing that, AoE 1 should be a safe fallback. Nobody can mess that up, and it was actually given away as a freebie with packets of cereal about 8 years back, here in NZ.
I won't play any Steam/Source games, though. Not only will it lag like a demon on my poor laptop, I have no intentions of tangling with Valve over copyright issues again.

Halo should be good, done it over Hamachi before.
In regard to WARHAMMER 40k... read the following:

I believe wee have all been talking about Age of Empire II, not 1, by the way. ^^

Same thing happened here in Australia too.
That's how I got my copy. From Kelloggs!
:)
Mickey just joined the network and I found the very unpleasent DOWN BLUE ARROW on him.
This means a connection is being RELAYED and is LIMITED to 6kb/s, let alone the possibility of it being unconnectable.
He fixed it by manually configuring Hamachi to use ports he forwarded on his router properly, and he has a green star like most of us now.
After that he was unpingable... since he had no firewall, and Windows Firewall was disabled, it seemed hard to believe it could be happening.
Well something got stuck, because enabling and disabling Windows Firewall fixed it, and he's now fully connectable.
Got me some AoE 2. Thank god for friends.
And I mentioned AoE 1 just in case some people had problems.
