Considering that Dragon Warrior starting the whole RPG craze in Japan I would think that comapnies just don't want to change a formula that works.

EDIT: Sparker's sure to love the music. It uses a lot chip tune instrumentals. Also the start of the game is almost exactly like Dragon Quest III's.
