naaaah....someone needs to find a way to extract the updater file to use for cfw installation, maybe that's a solution, but it isn't possible for now

i took the data.bin and rneamed to data.psar *header says its a psar file* then took the param.sfo and used those 2 files to make the eboot wiht pbpunpacker..then psardumper would see the eboot and extract the contents..
then for chocolates n giggles i took that file and tried using it to install on 5.50 gen or mhu and it said the file size didnt match...so then i took and padded the eboot to the proper size and i got the SCE updater to start but then it said the update was corrupt and the process could not continue :( Oooh man I was ready to drop a poop in my pants..

quite annoying task :( i have heard of the method you used on lan.st before, when someone tried to get the 3.96 updater, but always getting corrupt eboot
maybe genyus from gen will look into this and maybe he will also find a solution
wee just need the key for signing the eboot....

Lol. Schmilk i tried the samething you did. I used the pbp unpacker. I tried to make the eboot stable enough to work but sadly it was corrupted at every attempt.

What is the difference between the 5.51 and the 5.55 ?

Nothing still?

Hey i think that i found something.
I made a ctf with the 5.55 modules and resources and i tried to run the G.I jones but it has the same problem.
So it must read a file from the kd folder. Also i think that is the same file that blocks the psn.

yeah pretty sure its a load*.prx from the kd folder :(
i know they can't be decrypted, but I never tried psardump WITHOUT decrypting...maybe just dumping the file encrypted can do the trick...the reason i say that is the current psardumper will NOT decrypt kernel modules from the update because the encryption key is not included :( *but that key IS known by people on the internet, so SOMEONE can make this work..unfortunately I am not the one that can do that :( *again i kick myself for not attending my programming courses at college
Oh...the other thing about the 5.55 files in a ctf is once the gameboot is over, ctf resources are no longer used and its using flash files so its too late to be looking at the ctf to make the game work

I asked someone about loading cxmb via game.txt and they said cxmb won't load in game mode :( or won't make a difference :(
The REAL way to be testing this is to make your pandora battery and start flashing 5.55 files...but again, im pretty sure its the KD folder that is the bugger here :(

Yes i agree with you.But what about a new cxmb that loads and the kd folder. :)

Yes it is the kd folder.
Wee must check the files. => too many bricks, too many downgrades/upgrades. :)
