short? watch FLCL. Six episodes of pure awesomeness.

yeah, that. Elfen Lied for the win.

Haibane Renmei (13 eps). It starts off a bit slow, but it's a masterpiece (also where my avatar is from).
Texhnolyze (22 eps). Violence and a pretty good story.
Eden of the East (11 eps). This one just finished mid-June. Good story, and 2 movies still on the way.
Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad (26 eps). Good anime about a band.


Also, Monster is my favourite anime, but at 74 episodes, it's not short. There's no fillers, at least, and the story is the best I've seen.

K-ON and FLCL are two excellent choices.

If you don't mind horror, watchHigurashi no Naku Koro ni, and the second season after, Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai.

Ye shall not be disappointed by any of these titles.

I've started off with watch K-ON.
Streaming it though because the last time I download an anime I got kinda scolded by my dad.

EDIT: Finished K-ON by marathon-ing it all night, that was fun, maybe I'll do an all night anime marathon again tonight!

Yeah, I saw the first one, Higurashi no Naku Koro ni - That was so bizzare...
Is the second one in the same setting as the first?

Right now I'm watching Toaru Majutsu no Index because I remeber heartless suggested it for me awhile back.
