I'm not to serious, i would be like you and give it a test drive, and if i like it, I'll install it.
if i ran it off the cd, would i still be able to install or run other linux programs like firefox or would i be stuck with nothing?
all that stuff is pre installed on the cd
but if you get it shipped, be sure to get the live cd as well as the installation
and make sure you chose the one best for your system
i just signed up for it to be shipped but these were the only options (i cropped the pic so you can't see my details etc lol)
so i think that is only the LiveCD that i get, not the installer aswell :(
if you don't have a 64 bit processor that's fine
the live cd and install is built into one i c

Meh, but aren't there like tons of mirrors for Linux distros? Try using a download manager, and supplying multiple mirrors.

yo, I suggest, u dun install AMD64 version of ubuntu, cause, not all 32bits apps has been ported to 64bit just yet.....
and I have been using ubuntu for 2 yrs now... it is 1 of the best distro around.....
Fedora is cool, but I dun like rpm and is too heavy... :P
