Of course, the one squee got is probably 'borrowed' goods lol.

For Windows lappies, I'd go for the Sony Vaio laptops. They have some damn good computers.
I'm gonna recommend a Mac though. You can get some really kickass deals on closeout models if you search a bit. And like Squee said, you can run Windows totally native on any Mac nowadays.

for laptops ? ... no :D
you can change only the ram hd and the optical drives

(i think)

sadly... theyr expensive Erk
Arggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggh....

I really need one :(
well frankly said Acer isn't that poo poo. For a budget lappy, its pretty good.

what is your main purpose behind buying a lappy?

General purpose, photoshop, maybe some gaming (I'm not much of a gamer), surfing the web blahblahblah...

but I will be encoding video aswell and I would like to be able to watch films....
so why do you need a kill all laptop?

anything with 2GB, integrated graphics, 80 GB Hdd, wifi and XP (yes XP) will do that. Infact, even a netbook will do all of that.

If you're not much of a gamer, you don't want to have a dedicated memory graphics as that totally kills the battery.
If you're using general PS, I use it on a Acer Aspire One.. go figure
For video encoding, any 2.0+ Ghz dual core processor, 2MB Cache and 2GB RAM will do that pretty smoothly.
Thanks feinicks :)

I do need a cd drive though....
Damn my budget is annoying :/
