A SEQUAL to "ef - a tale of memories" has been ANNOUNCED!!!

THE big thing about this is that its one of the finest animes I've EVER seen, so if its anything like its predecessor, I don't need to say more.

Quote:The television anime series ef - a tale of melodies. has been announced at Saturday's Rondo Robe 2008 event in Tokyo. The website for this Fall sequel to 2007's ef - a tale of memories series has simultaneously launched with a promotional video in streaming or downloadable format. Like the first series based on the ef - a fairy tale of the two adult romance game franchise, Shin Oonuma will direct the animators at SHAFT. Also returning are the supervisor Akiyuki Shinbo, series script supervisor Katsuhiko Takayama, character designer Nobuhiro Sugiyama (who is adapting the designs of Naru Nanao and 2C=Galore), and music composers Eiichiro Yanagi and Tenmon.

The cast so far includes Yumiko Nakajima (Yūko Amamiya), Kouichi Toochika (Yū Himura), Mai Goto (Mizuki Hayama), Kenji Hamada (Shūichi Kuze), Shizuka Itou (Nagi Hirono), and Tohru Furusawa (Akira Amamiya).

Thank you to zalas for the news tip.

Lets look forward to another breathtaking Anime.
Is this going to be based on ef - the latter tale?

Wait, reading the character's list, yes it will be, at least partially.

Well, I'm looking forward to it. Kinda liked the first one.
I really want a sequel to Elfen Lied... I want to know how the diclonius vs human war ended in the anime version!

Truly magnificient....

Hardly do anime deserve such praise!
I liked the 1st series better. This wasn't really a sequel, it's the story of characters that appeared in the 1st series.
I actually liked the second one better. Most people like the 1st one better though.

I really don't want to compare the two as they tell different stories. But for once (like with Code Geass R2), the sequel held its own and cannot be said to be inferior to the 1st series, as it frequently happens.

Errr... the 2nd Code Geass I thought wasn't as good as the 1st. The 1st had more structure, and a better planned our story.

But yeah, the difference between the two isn't that great, unlike lets say the difference between the 1st and 2nd Matrix movies (1st was great, 2nd and 3rd sucked donkey).
