how long do you think it would take to convert 50 naruto episodes to the optimal format without (noticable) loss of quality, on my pc?
^Lol, IDK.  Figure it out how long it takes to convert one into H.264 :D

Then multiply that by 50
what do you use to convert?

If u want to convert to H264, use MeGui.
If u want to encode into XviD, MeGui is probably also the best.

If u do not have much experience, use StaxRip.

If u never encoded anything before, and have no idea about encoding, use AutoGK.

If u'r really pro, u can try to not use a GUI at all, and directly use the needed tools. (I can't do it)
I'd recommend AutoGK. Very nice, easy to use front-end.

Converting a 2+ hour movie to DivX and MP3 took just over an hour and a half on my machine.
zinga what settings do you use normally?
Ok I have a question then.
