Why do you want people to sign up and leave?  Try to make the site look bigger?  If so, just use an automated script to insert 1,000's of people - easy.

Just like I use automated scripts to insert 6,200 users and 90,000 posts (I must say, the AI of the script which inserts the posts is certainly much more intelligent than I originally thought >_>).
