RE: question about a router
From what i know Azumi , the wireless channel is only one from the router wich means :

3mb total connection = 2 PC´s connected = 1.5 per user ; but if your PC is using all the bandwidth and other is connecting then you will always loose the connection, not loosing it but getting slow is a fact...

Im not sure if you use the ethernet cable coming out from the router for one PC and the wifi for the other PC maybe this way , but im not sure if this rule was only for the Hubs.

if you do the above a pc always gets disconnected when the other connects

you both have to use wifi

Have you checked your router settings to see if bandwidth limiting is available on your router?

RE: question about a router
Sorry to post so late. You are all kinda wrong except gsmoke.

Not all D-Link Routers allow bandwidth monitoring and controlling.
Here's a link to D-Link page that lists the ones that have the needed features.
http://support.dlink.com/faq/view.asp?pr...+bandwidth
_________

If you happen to be running one of the listed routers, here's a step-by-step, from D-Link:
http://support.dlink.com/faq/view.asp?pr...+bandwidth
__________

If the above is not available to your specific router, here are some general ideas:
http://www.ezlan.net/monitor.html
__________

And last but not least starting Windows 2000 wee have QoS (quality of service) which also allows monitoring/controlling of bandwidth.
__________

Hope that gives you some more ideas.
