programs keep freezing
i jus reinstalled vista and most of my programs such as msn and utorrent keep on freezing and sometimes my explore.exe freezes or the network status jus sticks to not connected but i can still use the net

There's really no single answer.  System instability can be due to many things, for example, from overclocking or RAM timings, to possible viruses, or just a dodgey system setup.

oh ok well i don't know how to over clock ram and i doubt i got a virus cause i did a scan y'dai and it all came out clean and how do i check if the start up is dodgey

My moms comp has Vista... and guess what, it screws up like all the time. Most unstable OS i have used as of yet. And SLOW.

The computer itself may be partially to blame though. The HDD seems somewhat screwed also.
