America is a terrible place to be selling...great for buying.

Tons of bank owned properties for sale dirt cheap.  But the development that I bought my house in which is new construction sold 0 houses in 2009 and still has room for 50 more to build!  They hae a townhouse develoebt also with 3 building and 6 "houses" per building with 0 people living on them!

Only good for selling if you think prices are going to come down.  If you expect it to continue to rise at a good enough rate, I see little reason why selling is good.
This is mainly for a house you live in, not investment property (sorry, should have clarified that).  So unless you like moving, selling is probably not a good option (since you're going to have to buy around the same time anyway), or you feel like renting or whatever.

Can imagine housing in the US to be rather interesting right now.
