I'm getting a Toshiba soon maybe a Qosmio probably a Satellite...
Is there a way to check if it is designed to run XP or should the little tag list it?

what a pos that newer pcs arent made to run older stuff, i can easily run win98 on my pc, double you tee eff. most companies still have drivers for any of their stuff that goes back to at least win2000...

New machines WILL run other OS's, just companies that sell pre-built computers only have to provide for the software and drivers of the OS that they provide, if you want to put a different operating system on your machine all you need to know is the components in your machine and go out and get the drivers yourself.

being stuck on vista is bad as having a lot of viruses on ur xp
too bad they r trying to fudge up people with vista

Well. XP is actually now more expensive than Vista in stores here. IMO just a move by Microsoft to convert people to Vista. And most laptops come with an OS paid for by you, so yeah, they're trying to make us use Vista.
