RE: PRX compressor for FW3.5x M33
PRX compressor v0.41 is out. Fixed a template file deleting bug and the annoying "C:\TEMP" folder problem solved with using application directory to save tempfiles.

RE: PRX compressor for FW3.5x M33
Nice update:yipi:
But one thing I'm getting this error:
could not find file "C:\PRXcompressor\required\0.gz
In my required folder there's a 0 file but no 0.gz

I would have liked to use application diretory for tempfile creation. The reason why I chose "C:\TEMP" is that gzip had problems with folder names containing space char, like "Program files". But the only problem was I forgot to use quotation marks in path names... No comment. I will release a new version in a few hours which will solve this annoying problem, so no more C:\TEMP problem.
Haha, it took me a long time to figure out how to fix the spaces problem too, when I first made GUIs. Managed to learn from fiddling around with XP's autocomplete feature in the DOS prompt.
Yeah, API is useful. It's generally how you interface with libraries, like zlib. Looking through the code you found might give you a general idea of how to call functions from a DLL.
I'm still surprised that 7-zip's deflate works better than zlib. Dunno if this is because there's a newer version of zlib or anything. The main thing, zlib is used in _many_ places, from most PNG compressors, to things like DAX and CSO UMD image formats. Even PSX EBOOT compression is done via zlib deflate. If 7-zip's implementation saves a few KB for small files, imagine the difference it would make to larger files like PSX EBOOTs and UMD images... :O
